Nariya and Scott’s Napa Valley Wedding at Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch was worth the wait and nothing short of incredible. I’m lucky enough to call them both dear friends and dear clients. Nariya and Scott have thrived in the culinary industry for years – Nariya as a pastry chef / artist and Scott as a chef.
Their timeless and classic wine country wedding centered around what’s most important to them – family, friends and of course, food.
Let’s backtrack though – it was a long road to their wedding day! Their Napa Valley Wedding at Farmstead was initially planned for Fall 2020. Enter the pandemic. Like a lot of couples in 2020, they faced challenges and had to postpone to Spring 2021. The pandemic had other plans throwing another curveball at them. Because of strict travel restrictions and the majority of their guests were traveling from abroad, including Nariya’s parents who were traveling all the way from Thailand, they made the tough decision to postpone again – this time to their official date of November 19, 2021. Third time’s the charm!
Nariya and Scott started out as Culinary classmates at The Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena which coincidentally brought them full circle as they celebrated their wedding day in the same town they met! They then became friends and later co-workers at a bakery in San Francisco. They would be friends for five years before their connection turned into more than just friendship.
The day started at Up Valley Inn in nearby Calistoga as they got ready for the big day. The apple meadow at the Long Meadow Ranch property was the perfect spot for their sunset ceremony later moving to the main lawn for the reception. Sixty five guests gathered as they finally said their vows. Cocktail hour and a live fire dinner followed as guests sat under romantic rows of market lights next to a vineyard. Each place setting had a small box of chocolate bon bons along with a wrapped lottery ticket scratcher! The fire pit near the dinner area provided warmth and was perfect as the sun set and the Fall temperatures dropped in Napa Valley.
Nariya’s best friend and maid of honor who lives in Thailand wasn’t able to attend, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t be part of the celebration! Maid of honor, Ja, was able to give her speech via zoom as guests watched from the lawn. Later that evening, guests enjoyed s’mores around the fire pit and danced the night away to both a DJ and special live performance by one of the couple’s dearest friends who also happens to be the lead singer for band Pop ROCKS. What a treat!
Preserve Studio captured Nariya and Scott’s wedding day beautifully from start to finish! Their relaxed and intimate Napa wedding perfectly combined the rustic appeal of the wine country with minimalist and sophisticated touches in the signage, tabletop decor and florals. It was so much fun to plan, and even more fun to see it all finally come together!
